About Catalca
Catalca is a city and a rustic locale in Istanbul, Turkey. It is in East Thrace, on the edge between the Marmara and the Black Sea. The vast majority living in Catalca are either ranchers or those meeting summer homes. Numerous families from Istanbul come to Catalca amid ends of the week to climb in the woodlands or have picnics. Catalca's antiquated Greek name was Ergíske. Ergiske was an old Greek city in Thrace, situated in the district of the Propontis. Under Roman standard, it was named Metrae or Meter and was sufficiently critical in the Late Roman region of Europa to end up a suffragan of its capital Heraclea's Metropolitan Archbishop.
Starting at a November 22, 2000 registration, the number of inhabitants in Catalca area was 81,589, while the city of Catalca had a populace of 36,544 out of 2009. The populace development rate was 0.66%. Catalca has a region of 1,715 km² and 135 kilometers of coastline. Its neighbors incorporate Catalca toward the south, and Silivri and Tekirdag Province toward the west. Avcilar, Kucukcekmece, and Arnavutkoy mislead the east. New water for Istanbul is given from by lakes Durusu and Catalca. Yalikoy is a shoreline resort of Catalca. The Cilingoz Nature Park west of Yalikoy offers outdoors and open air amusement exercises.
