About Alacam
Alacam is a focal town of Alacam region of Samsun Province of Turkey. Researchers trust that Alacam is the site of the antiquated city of Zaliche or Zaliches. Alacam County has a long history. It has been held by Phrygian, Cimmerians, Lydians and Persians before the zone was taken by Alexander the Great. The Pontus Kingdom came in the first century BC which was thusly attached by the Roman Empire. After the division of the Roman Empire, the Byzantines called the town Zalikus.
