About Ruschlikon
Ruschlikon is a municipality in the district of Horgen inside the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It is placed on the west shore of Lake Zurich. Its coat of palms features a white guard showing a purple rose with a yellow middle and a inexperienced two-leaved stem. Earliest archaeological findings are grave mounds from the early Iron Age Hallstatt tradition on the Zimmerberg mountain. The name of Ruschlikon is Alemannic and first seems in the documents around 1153 as Ruoslinchoven. In the early Eighties, Ruschlikon blocked off many of the smaller side streets from Thalwil in order that site visitors between Zurich and Thalwil could be unable to use them.
The Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue is primarily based in Rüschlikon. The centre is built inside the grounds of the Villa Bodmer, which was owned via the Swiss industrialist Karl Martin Leonhard Bodmer. The CEO of commodities agency Glencore, Ivan Glasenberg, is a resident of Ruschlikon. Glasenberg paid 360 million SFr in taxes to Ruschlikon following Glencore's flotation at the London Stock Exchange. The cash enabled the residents to reduce their taxation charge via 7 per cent, which become authorized by way of massive majority after a public vote.
