Riehen is a municipality within the canton of Basel-Stadt in Switzerland. Together with the town of Basel and Bettingen, Riehen is one of three municipalities within the canton. Riehen hosts the Fondation Beyeler a privately owned art gallery in addition to a toy museum. Riehen became the first municipality in Switzerland to opt for a woman, Trudy Spath-Schweizer to political workplace, in 1958. Riehen has a population of 21,477.
