About Payerne
Payerne is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It was the seat of the district of Payerne, and is now part of the district of Broye-Vully. The German name for the city "Peterlingen" is out of use. The initial mark of the settlements near the pen includes traces of Neolithic objects and a Bronze Age settlement. There are buried mounds from Hallstatt and Lateen cultures, including gold necklaces that were found in Le Bois de Roverx. In the area of Les Aventuri was a Celtic bridge and a Roman era road.
There were a dedicated inscriptions of Roman buildings, Roman cemeteries and publishers, Grachius Patterson, inside and outside the walls of the city. During the early Middle Ages, the village of Perne appeared for the first time. In 587, Bishop Marius constructed the statue of St. Mary in Pat Murphy and a chapel in the village. Chapel later developed into a parish church. The current Gothic building was built on the Roman foundation in the 14th century. It was renovated in the 1990s. In the 10th century, Clooney Pirinei Prory was founded. In 1033, Emperor Conrad II was crowned as the King of Burgundy in the priest's church.
