Ollon

Ollon is a municipality in the district of Aigle in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, sited in the foothills of the mountains to the south-east of the Lake of Geneva. The old German language name Olun is no longer used. The first time Aolon has been mentioned in the 1018 as Aolonam, although there is some debate about whether there is any other settlement mentioned in it or not. In 1025-32 it was mentioned as ollomonam. Their number was 139 in the primary area, out of which 124 were in agriculture and 15 were in forestry or wood production.

The number of jobs in secondary sector was 269, out of which 78 were in manufacturing and 168 were in construction. The number of jobs in the tertiary sector was 1,369. About 1,975 people in tertiary sector have completed non-compulsory secondary education in Olonan, and 885 have completed additional higher education either a university or a future of 885 which had completed tertiary schooling, were Swiss men, 18.0% were non-Swiss men and non-Swiss women. In the year 2009/2010 school year, there were 7% students, in the Ollo School District in W.Controllle School system, two years of non- Wary are provided pre-school political district.
