About Carouge
Carouge is a municipality in Geneva, Switzerland. Carvez is first mentioned in the form of quadrivium and quatruvio in the early Middle Ages. In 1248, it was referred to as Carogium, while in the 14th century it was known as Quaroz or Quarogie. In 1445 it was described as Quargio. The current city was built by Victor Amades III of Sardinia of Sardinia and Duke of Savoy, which began in 1760-70. It gained city status in 1786. Etoile Carouge is a football club and they currently play in the Swiss Challenge League.
An outdoor Olympic swimming pool, known as Piscine de la Fontenette and indoor Piscine des Pervenches. Carouge has a museum, Musee de Carouge, Cinema, Bio 72, which plays specially indie films; And a popular theater, Theatre de Cortege-Ethelier de Geneve. The river Arway, which crosses the Karouge from north-east, is the way to walk along and cycle it. There is also a free bicycle rental station Geneve Roule near Carouge in Place de la Octoie. During the 2009-2010 school year, there were a total of 3,816 students in the Caroughe School system.
The education system in Geneva's Kent allows small children to attend two-year non-compulsory kindergarten. During that school year, there were 377 children who were in a pre-kindergarten class. Canton's school system provides two years of non-compulsory kindergarten and students need to participate in six years of elementary school with some children attending small, special classes. There were 619 students in kindergarten or elementary school in Karogge and 83 students were in special, small classes.
