Over the past few years, the tourism industry has increased in India. The rich culture, festivals, tradition and national heritage of India attract a lot of foreign tourists. So to provide convenience to the foreign visitors India government launched E tourist Visa in November 2014. For nine Indian airports and 43 countries, E tourist Visa facility was made available. Further, this E-visa facility was extended in the year 2015 to some other countries even. A list of 76 countries total comes under this service and government plans to increase it to 150.
1. Foreign Travelers to India with e-Visa Will Get a BSNL SIM Card
Staring from September end, foreign travelers to India with e-visa will get a BSNL SIM card for use during their stay in India. The step is especially concerned for security help and also to promote India as a global tourist destination among foreign travelers. Mr. Mahesh Sharma – The Indian Union Tourism Minister has stated, “Previously we had number of meetings with the Home Ministry regarding this topic and finally they have agreed to our proposal. It will be launched soon.”
Usually foreign tourists face problems to acquire SIM cards in India during their stay. This facility will completely erase this problem while addressing their security concerns also. The SIM cards will have preloaded talk time amount, a welcome kit, tourism booklets, maps, information regarding various tourist destinations and emergency contact numbers.
