1. Katta Maisamma Temple
It is just 0.8 kilometers from the city and is a beautiful temple that residents of the city flock in large numbers. You can offer a Puja over here and if you happen to be here during the month of July, you can even see devotees celebrate the 'Bonalu' festival with fervor. It is dedicated to the Goddess Maisamma that is a manifestation of strength.
2. Begumpet Mosque
It is also known as the Spanish Mosque and is a majestic looking structure that is located at 0.9 kilometers from the airport. If you happen to love architecture and state-of-the-art interiors, this mosque can keep you interested. It is built along the lines of a famous Spanish mosque called the Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba, Spain. Instead of the customary domes or minarets, this mosque has spires and that lends it a unique look which can be admired.
It is only 1.3 kilometers from the airport and is a beautiful green space for morning jogging and walks. If fitness is what inspires you, you can visit the park and enjoy its greenery. It is constructed over an area of more than two acres and you can even enjoy a serene boat ride in the facility. There is a manmade desert in the park that can be quite an attraction.
4. Balkampet Yellamma Temple
The temple is at a distance of 1.4 kilometers from the airport and offers a pleasant getaway for any visitor. Anyone can visit it and offer Pujas apart from getting many types of souvenirs or conventional children's toys from the many shops that are located outside it. If you happen to be here during the Bonaalu festival, you can enjoy the pomp and gaiety with which it is celebrated yearly.
5. Buddha Statue
The 58 feet gigantic Buddha Statue in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake is the world's largest monolithic statue of the Buddha and is undoubtedly one of the attractions of the city. It is situated only 2.9 kilometers from the airport and there are boat rides that are conducted in the lake to reach the statue base. The lighting of the statue at night is quite attractive and glamorous.
6. Jalavihar Water Park
This water park is situated at only a distance of 1.9 kilometers from the airport and has the country's largest wave pool. So, if you are an adrenaline junkie, it is the place to be so that you can enjoy some mind-blowing water sports, and get some real adventure on the dry rides and wave pool. There is also a mini train for kids and a food court where some delicious palates can be enjoyed.
7. O2 Spa Vivanta By Taj Hotel
If you want to groom yourself before the flight, you can always visit the O2 Spa which is a mere 0.7 kilometers from the airport. It is an ideal place for getting a superb spa treatment.
