Indians are required to take Australian Visa if they wish to travel to Australia. A file is to be lodged in the Embassy beforehand to get the Visa. The process for the same is stated below
1. Know your visa type
It is very important to know the category in which you need to apply for the Visa. You can apply for a tourist, medical issue, transit, study, temporary work etc. Once you are aware of the visa type then the file could be prepared accordingly.
2. Apply for Visa
Once the file is complete you can apply to the embassy and wait for the further response.
Prepare your file
To prepare the file there is a checklist of documents which are to be submitted. The documents are:-

Form Number 1419 is required. This is a tourist visa form and should be filled completely by the applicant. The columns which do not require your information write not applicable over there.

A Demand Draft on the behalf of Australian High Commission is also required. This Draft should be of Rs 7700 which is payable at New Delhi.

All the pages of the passport should be photocopied and attached.

A copy of birth certificate is also required.

A photograph is also required. The photograph should be glued to the form and its size should be 45mm by 35 mm. Minimum eighty percent space of the photograph should be covered with the face of the person.

Flight tickets must be attached in the file. The arrival and departure both should be attached.

An itinerary of the trip is required which states the purpose of your visit, the places you are going to visit along with the dates. Even details about your place of accommodation are to be attached along.

Bank statements showing your affordability of the trip should be attached.

Income tax returns of past three years should be attached in the file.

Proof of investment which you have made in your own country.

Letter from the firm you are working should be attached. The letter should mention about your leave from the work and you are employed in it.

The record of your pay, which is a copy of payslips, should be attached. A minimum of last three months slip should be attached.

Travel insurance of the places you are going to visit in Australia should be covered.
All these documents are to be submitted for the processing.
3. Track your file
After the submitting of the file, you will be issued a number for it. By using that number you can track the processing of your file.
