Travelling to Delhi Airport has become a hassle nowadays due to the increase in traffic congestion, thus reaching the airport and boarding flights on time with all the baggage is a big task in itself. Thus to ease all your hassles of travelling to Delhi Airport with your baggage, the service has been launched in collaboration with a Bengaluru-based firm, CarterX. Now passengers flying to and fro from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport can now opt for having their baggage transported directly to the airport. The doorstep baggage pick-up, drop services facility for passengers has been officially launched at Terminal 3 for both international and domestic flights. After a successful trial, Delhi airport on 14th February announced that it has started the transfer facility for passengers. It has been also said that this service will be extended to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the airport as well.
Those who wish to avail the service, they can make a reserving through CarterX app or website, not just that they have made counters as well on the airport for the luggage to be picked up from their house.
As when you book your bag for its security and so that it reaches the place in the right condition they will be catering those bags in a separate tamper-resistant sealable luggage, which might be marked and bar-coded for simple id.
As stated by the airport authorities, "On arrival at the airport, passengers can collect their baggage at the departure forecourt area and proceed for check-in"
Whereas passengers can e-book the provider on-line or on the luggage pick-up and drop counter at T3, If they wish to dispatch their baggage from the airport.
The luggage can also be delivered from the airport to places in Delhi/NCR area, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
According to DIAL the booking is available only through website of Carter X but soon will be available on Delhi Airport’s website www.newdelhiairport.in
Passengers availing this facility will have to provide the date of service for pick-up or delivery, flight details, delivery location, it added.
After fee of provider rate, the luggage can be delivered to arrival/departure space.
Passengers can also keep a check on their luggage in transit on telephone.
The charges for the pickup services will depend upon the number of bags, the weight of bags and distance from where the baggage will be picked.
Delhi Airport baggage picks up and drops facility will make the travelling from Delhi much easier and might also release the stress of many travellers now on.
