1. ICC World Cup (T20)
Cricket is the most popular game in India. Twenty20 format is the shortest and most loved by fans. Good news is that India will be hosting the sixth ICC World Twenty20tournament. Event will feature 16 teams. World Cup will be held from 11 March, 2016 to 3 April, 2016. Matches will take place in the following cities that are New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mohali, Dharamshala, Nagpur and Mumbai. The Final will take place in Kolkata.
2. Indian Table Tennis League 2016
It is a period of leagues and Table Tennis has also entered the list. The inaugural event of Indian Table Tennis League will be held next year. It will take place on May 28 to June 12, 2016. Total eight teams are participating and with each team including a foreign player. The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has announced that teams will be competing for whopping prize money of One Crore. However, the format is yet to be finalized.
3. AFC U-16 Championship
India will be hosting the 2016 AFC U-16 Championship. This is a 17th edition of the Championship. The tournament is organized between 15 September and 2 October 2016. In all 16 teams will be participating. The event acts as the AFC qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The top four teams will qualify. If India is among the top four teams, the fifth-placed team will also qualify. Venues are yet to be announced.
4. Pro Kabbadi League
Pro Kabaddi League is a professional kabaddi league in India. It is started by Mashal Sports. The owners of the League have decided that from next year, the league will have two seasons in a year. It is schedule to be played once in January-February, 2016 and other in July-August, 2016. This will be a 10 week activity. The eight franchises have declared their players and squads for the upcoming season.
5. Martial Art Camp
A martial art event that will be held at Bangalore in January, 2016. It is a 2 weeks martial Art learning camp. This camp will take place under the leadership of Grand master Acharya Raghu. Here lectures in technical subjects of medicines, anatomy, workouts will also take place. Scientific approach of Zen meditation and Hatha yoga will also be told.
6. Indian Premier League (IPL)
The Indian Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league and the most popular. It is a clash between franchise teams. The tournament is planned between 8 April and 29 May 2016. Mumbai may host the final as Mumbai Indians are the defending champions. This time two new teams will be included as two sides (Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings) have been suspended.
7. National Games
Goa will host the 36th National Games in November, 2016. The National Games is a sporting event held in our country in which sportsmen from various states of India compete against each other. This year there are 28 sport disciplines for National Games.
8. Junior Hockey World Cup
Junior Hockey World Cup will be held in New Delhi from December 01, 2016 - December 11, 2016. The Junior World Cup is a great opportunity for young players to show their talent and skills. Participants should be under the age of 21 as of December 31, 2015. Total 16 teams will be contesting in this cup.
9. South Asian Games
The South Asian Games is a tournament which takes place every two years. Kerala will be hosting the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) in February, 2016. Initially it was to be held in Guwahati and Shillong, however due to infrastructure problem the venue has been changed. Thiruvananthapuram is the capital city and will host the most number of matches. This time women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and women’s football will also be introduced.
10. WWE 2016 Live Event
WWE Live is coming back to India with two live events at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi on January 15, Friday and January 16, Saturday, 2016. Spectators watching will ensure a display of nonstop action and full entertainment. They will witness their WWE superstars comprising Ryback, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Big Show, John Cena and Cesaro. Tickets can be purchased from November 4, 2015.
