Abbey Falls, located about 10 km from Madikeri, is one of Coorg's most prevalent tourist attractions. The waterfall, which falls 70 feet from the cliff, offers a spectacular and captivating scene that will amaze you.
The British chaplain named the place Jessy Falls after his daughter. After the British left, Neravanda B. Nanaiah bought the land from the Government and set up plantations all around it, and the area has been private property since then. Its ownership passed through numerous hands after Tipu Sultan captured it, so the British made significant changes in the fort's design, too.

The initial structure covered 80 sq. ft. The temple's area is due to the Indian government donating it to the Tibetan refugees who settled there. Inside, one can witness Guru's enormous 40-foot-high golden statues. 
Attractive paintings of Tibetan Buddhist mythology surround Buddha Sakyamuni, Padmasambhava, and Amityaus. The prayer rituals done by the monks are not to be missed. The tranquil vibe of the place is augmented by the developed gardens surrounding the area.
