About Sant SadurnI dAnoia
Sant Sadurni d'Anoia is a municipality inside the comarca of the Alt Penedès in Catalonia, Spain; and the centre of manufacturing of a glowing wine referred to as cava. It is located inside the north-east of the Penedes Depression at the confluence of the Averno river and the Anoia river. It is served through the A-7 autopista and the Renfe railway line that join Barcelona with Manresa and El Vendrell. The noucentista buildings of the Codorniu cava residence on the edge of the city have been designed by using Josep Puig I Cadafalch.
Sant Sadurni has its origins in the old parish of Sant Sadurni de Subirats, documented in 1080. It turned into part of the barony of the finished castle of Subirats, in the hands of noble households, until in 1493 it turned into included into the Crown of Aragon. For centuries, Sant Sadurni de Subirats changed into not greater than a fixed of houses aligned across the secular avenue among Tarragona and Barcelona. Its geographic state of affairs allowed a greater development of the populace with respect to the near parishes that formed the University of Subirats Sant Pau d'Ordal, Sant Pere Lavern, and Sant Sadurní de Subirats.
