Rubi

Rubi is a district in Catalonia Spain, in the comarca of Valles Occidental and the territory of Barcelona, 15 kilometers from Barcelona. It is verged on the north by Terrassa and Ullastrell, on the south by Sant Cugat del Vallès, on the west by Castellbisbal and on the east by Sant Quirze del Vallès.The city is accepted to be of Roman beginning, in perspective of the quantity of amphoras and works that have been found, in spite of the fact that the city was apparently established 986 with the name of Rivo Rubeo. At the passing of Wilfred the Hairy, the fringe between Al-Andalus and Catalan districts was delimited by the stream Llobregat, with Catalans toward the north and Muslims toward the south; Rubí was hence near the outskirt. In 1233, Berenguer de Rubí asked the ruler Jaume I to construct another manor, which is currently the Ecomuseu Castell de Rubí, an exhibition hall about the town.
