About Olvera
Olvera is a city inside the province of Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain. According to the 2005 census, the city has a populace of 8,585 inhabitants. There is a lack of particular facts and studies into the proper beginning of the town. This way it is of conjecture to historians, a few questioning that the present metropolis became an established order named Caricus, approximately the time of the Celts. Professor Ramos Santana posits that the mythical Cenosia, the unique name of Olvera, placed near the present city centre, changed into known as Vallehermoso, present on the time of the Visigoths.
In this vicinity of the mountain range of Sierra de Lijar are numerous Roman camps and stays. The archaeologist Lorenzo Perdigones' file suggests the existence of a Roman established order inside the location, dated the stop of third century B.C. Indeed, the foundations of the metropolis fort had been determined to be Roman, at some stage in the removal of some of the rubble. The original name of Olvera will be "Ilipa". Hippa and Hippo Nova are possibly names of the authentic village.
