Troyeville

Troyeville is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a little suburb found on the eastern edge of the Johannesburg focal business district CBD, with suburbia of New Doornfontein, Bertrams and Lorentzville toward the north, Fairview toward the south and Kensington to its east. The fundamental street through the rural area is Albertina Sisulu, has its eastern end in the suburb and associates the CBD to Johannesburg's eastern rural areas and towns of the East Rand. It is situated in Region F of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.

Troyeville was established as the gold rush happened and individuals attempted to construct homes and houses of worship far from the focal point of mining. The rural area was established on one of the first ranches on the Witwatersrand, after a segment of land was sold from the homestead Doornfontein. The land was acquired by Hollanders, Van Boeschoten and Lorentz. Their property was reviewed by Gustav Arthur Troye and is named after this surveyor. The study did not take into check the forms of the land and consequently there are steep slants in the suburb.
