About Tembisa
Tembisa is a huge township arranged toward the north of Kempton Park on the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa. It was built up in 1957 when dark individuals were resettled from Alexandra and different territories in Edenvale, Kempton Park, Midrand and Germiston. The name Thembisa is a Nguni word importance guarantee and expectation was later incorrectly spelled as Tembisa. The settlement when it was established conveyed with it a great deal of expectation and guarantee for a more promising time to come for its occupants.
Despite the fact that its underlying inhabitants were powerfully expelled from parts of Kempton Park and Edenvale, to clear blacks from "white zones", settling in Tembisa additionally denoted the finish of long stretches of provocation by politically-sanctioned racial segregation experts, and a respite from an actual existence of griminess in their past settlements. The township was established in 1957. After the Afrikaner-ruled National Party picked up power in 1948 and started to execute politically-sanctioned racial segregation, the pace of constrained expulsions and the formation of townships outside legitimately assigned white zones expanded.
