About Takamaka
Takamaka is one of the 22 administrative regions of Mahe, Republic of Seychelles. It is located on the southern a part of the island of Mahé. Three different districts cover the 2 other most important islands of the Republic, Grand' Anse and Baie Sainte Anne on the island of Praslin and the internal islands district which include the third largest island, La Digue. The population of Takamata is envisioned at around 3,000. Economic activity is grouped around conventional farming and fishing. There is a few tourism-related infrastructure comprising 4 small lodges. The largest motel is the Banyan Tree Resort at Anse Intendance.
Most of the population is hired through the services and change region, which includes public carrier and private commerce, which include tourism. As with all districts, there is a number one faculty, health facility, police station and District Administration Office, all grouped around or close to the neighborhood Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mary Magdalena. It takes about an hour to trip via public bus to the capital, Victoria, some 25 km away and centre for all administrative and business sports. A everyday public bus carrier runs daily from around 05.30 to 20.00 hours.
