Seica Mare

Seica Mare is a commune placed in Sibiu County, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Boarta, Buia, Mighindoala, Petiș, Șeica Mare and Ștenea. Calvaser was also a village until the past due 20th century, when it turned into absorbed by means of Șeica Mare village. Buia village was first attested in a file of 1269, under the name of poss Bulla. In 1918, it had 1167 citizens, of whom 736 have been Romanians and the relaxation Germans and Hungarians. By 2002, the population become all the way down to 634: 516 Romanians, 104 Hungarians and three Roma. The village is in the southern a part of the commune, related to seica Mare through an eleven km stretch of county avenue.

Farkas Bolyai was born there in 1775. As currently as 1975, the village had in excess of fifty homes, but became step by step deserted after the communist regime withdrew infrastructure such as teachers and docs.
