Deva
About Deva
Deva is a vast town in west – focal Romania, set on the left bank of Mures River, not a long way from Romania's principle coal and mineral mining zone. Various ancient rarities dating from the Bronze Age, found in the zone, demonstrate that Deva locale has been occupied since no less than 450 BC. The name Deva may have been given to the region by the pioneers of the Roman Legion Augusta II who – in mid 100s AD – has been exchanged from Castrum Deva Castra Devana in Britania today the city of Chester in England to the recently vanquished region of Dacia/Transylvania. Deva is – for the individuals from the Universal Unitarian Church – an imperative place of journey. Unitarianism follows its institutional roots to Transylvania, where Unitarianism has thrived since the 1500s. The vestiges of Deva post contain the jail where Francis Davíd Ferenc Dávid - the Unitarian author of Europe's first official revelation of religious toleration - passed on in 1579.
