About Cartisoara
Cartisoara is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Sibiu county, Transylvania, Romania. The village of Cartisoara, additionally referred to as the Romanian Carp Kerch Olacorum, has been inhabited since the Early Middle Ages and until now predominantly through the Romanians, in contrast to the Saxon Carst.
The origin of the name is both of Slavic origin, derived from the vintage Slavic etimony kurco or Slavic synchronic krc or krci or of German foundation, taken from Carta Monastery. In the second one variation, the foundation of the call is etymologically defined by way of the German Kerz candle, the Latin call of the convent of the Carta monastery being "Sancta Maria de Candelis".
