About Tarnobrzeg
Tarnobrze is a town in south-jap Poland, on the east financial institution of the river Vistula, with 49,419 population, as of December 31, 2009. Situated inside the Subcarpathian Voivodeship considering 1999, it had previously been the capital of Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. Tarnobrzeg lies within the Sandomierz Basin, and immediately borders the metropolis of Sandomierz. Its history dates lower back to the year 1593, when it was granted Magdeburg rights, and belonged to the Tarnowski family. For centuries Tarnobrzeg remained a small city, which did now not broaden till the post-World War II length, when it became center of an industrial location, based totally on wealthy sulfur deposits.
Tarnobrzeg was founded in 1593, at some stage in the golden age of Poland, to become the house of the Tarnowski own family. In that year, King Sigismund III Vasa granted Magdeburg rights to the village. The founder of the city was Stanislaw Tarnowski, Castellan of Sandomierz. In 1772, it have become part of the Austrian Empire and remained within the province of Galicia until November 1918. Tarnobrzeg, located very near the Russian-Austrian border, sustained heavy damage at some point of World War I by invading armies.
