About Marikina
Marikina formally the City of Marikina or absolutely known as Marikina City, is a 1st class fairly urbanized town in Metro Manila, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 450,741 human beings. Located alongside the eastern border of Metro Manila, Marikina is the main gateway of Metro Manila to Rizal and Quezon provinces thru Marikina Infanta Highway.
It is bordered on the west by way of Quezon City, to the south by means of Pasig and Cainta, to the north by means of San Mateo and to the east through Antipolo, the capital of Rizal province. The first settlers had been descendants of Lakan Dula in the 1560s and the place is part of Kingdom of Tondo, accompanied through Augustinians had been the primary to reach on the valley in the 1570s on the spot called Chorillo in Barangka. In 1572, Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish become set up. Next came the Jesuits in 1630, in an area now called Jesus dela Pena. Here, the Jesuits set up a challenge and built a chapel still regarded today as Jesus dela Pena Chapel.
