About Albay
Albay is a province positioned in the Bicol Region in southeastern Luzon of the Philippines. Its capital is the City of Legazpi, the local middle of the entire Bicol Region, that is located inside the southern foothill of Mayon Volcano, the symbol maximum associated with the province. This flawlessly symmetrical lively stratovolcano forms a brilliant, scenic backdrop to the town of Legazpi and is visible in the course of the municipalities and cities of Albay consisting of the encompassing provinces.
Long before the Spaniards arrived, Albay had a thriving civilization. Formerly known as Ibat, after which Bogli, Albay become as soon as ruled by using Gat Ibal, an antique leader who also founded the vintage barangay of Sawangan, now part of the City of Legazpi. Historian William Henry Scott wrote that in the nearby epic known as siday entitled Bingi of Lawan, an Albay Datu by means of the call of Dumaraog went to the Lakanate of Lawan to ask for the fingers of Bingi bringing with him one hundred ships. Lawan is a prosperous Lakanate in Samar. Datu Hadi Iberein got here from the Lakanate of Lawan.
