Nesna

Nesna is a municipality in Helgeland in Nordland. It borders inside the east toward Rana and over the encompassing fjords lies within the north Luroy, within the south Leirfjord and inside the west Donna. The municipality includes, except the village Nesna, the islands Hugla, Handnesoya and Tomma. The highest factor within the municipality is the Tomskevelen on Tomma, 921.7 meters above sea level. By the status quo of the Donna municipality in 1962, Nesna's part of the island of Lokta changed into transferred to Donna, and the western part of the island of Tomma transferred to Nesna.

At the municipal reform in 1964, the components of Nesna that lay around the internal a part of Sjona have been transferred to the brand new massive municipality Rana, and a place on the south side of the Ranfjord with the villages Levang and Bardal transferred to Leirfjord municipality.
