About Paraparaumu
Paraparaumu is a town inside the south-western North Island of New Zealand. It lies at the Kapiti Coast, fifty five kilometres north of the country's capital metropolis, Wellington. Like different cities inside the region, it has a partner settlement at the coast called Paraparaumu Beach, which lies directly opposite Kapiti Island. The cities shape part of the Kapiti Coast District. Together with the nearby Raumati and Raumati South they may be some of the fastest-growing city regions in New Zealand, and are most important dormitory cities with people commuting to the cities that make up the Wellington city region. The four cities among them have a 2012 population of over 49,000 humans. Inland at the back of Paraparaumu is the Maungakotukutuku location.
"Paraparaumu" is a Maori-language call meaning "scraps from an earth oven"; "parapara" means "dirt" or "scraps", and "umu" approach "oven". It is occasionally said "Para-Param", specifically with the aid of longer-time period residents of European ethnicity, or surely "Pram" with the aid of local adolescents. The village of Lindale is a positioned simply north of the Paraparaumu city centre. It began as a Tourist and Agricultural Centre, but later received a recognition for cheese and the Lindale Barnyard petting farm.
