About Winsum
Winsum is a municipality and a city in the northeastern Netherlands. The metropolis of Winsum become officially set up in 1057 as the fusion of 3 historic villages: Obergum , Winsum and Bellingeweer. The majority of the metropolis's 8,000 population commute to the close by town Groningen. The metropolis boasts traditional Dutch wind turbines, historic church buildings, canals, and one of the Netherlands' oldest taverns. The generators, De Ster The Star and De Vriendschap The Friendship have been built in 1851 and 1801 respectively.
The building that the tavern De Gouden Karper The Golden Carp now occupies has been in use as a tavern since the 16th century, and is the oldest within the Netherlands. Winsum hosted the start and end of level 4a all through the 2012 Energiewacht Tour and the character time trial on the 2013 Energiewacht Tour. Due to the fulfillment of the 2012 Energiewacht Tour the town have become host metropolis for the men's and ladies's 2013 Dutch National Time Trial Championships on 19 June 2013. The person time trial at the 2013 Energiewacht Tour happened at the equal route.
