Menterwolde

Menterwolde is a former municipality with a population of 12,080 within the province of Groningen inside the Netherlands. On January 1, 2018, Menterwolde merged with Hoogezand-Sappemeer and Slochteren, forming the municipality Midden-Groningen. On 1 January 1990, the municipalities of Meeden, Muntendam, and Oosterbroek merged to shape Menterwolde. Menterwolde is positioned in the province of Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. It is situated in the west of the vicinity of Oldambt.

Menterwolde is bordered by means of the municipalities of Slochteren within the northwest and north, Oldambt within the east, Pekela within the southeast, Veendam in the south, and Hoogezand-Sappemeer within the southwest and west. The populace centres in Menterwolde are the villages of Borgercompagnie, Meeden, Muntendam, Noordbroek, Tripscompagnie, and Zuidbroek. The municipality has a total region of 81.Sixty two km2 of which 80.33 km2 is land and 1.29 km2 is water. In 2017, Menterwolde had a population of 12,080 and a populace density of one hundred fifty/km2.
