About Ilam
Ilam is one in all 4 urban municipalities of Ilam District, which is within the hilly vicinity of Province No. 1. Ilam also acts as the headquarters of Ilam District. Geographically it lies in the hill region that's often referred to as Mahabharata iety. It is also one of the important cities in Province No. 1 and one of the predominant places in Nepal for tea-production. It is well-known for natural scenery and landscapes, tea manufacturing, and numerous agricultural economy. It is one of the predominant horticultural crop production districts of Nepa.
New Hotels are being opened in Ilam for tourism. Ilam is thought for its six "A"s: are Alu Potato, Alan Milk, Alainchi Cardamom, Aduwa Ginger, Amriso Broom Grass, and Akabare khursani Round Chillies, and many others. Although tea, bamboo, vegetation and silk also are produced in Ilam. Agricultural commodities enables to increase the Agricultural Gross Development Product. Beside these, the tourism area also contributes inside the economy of Ilam. Ilam bazaar has were given haat on Sundays and Thursdays each week.
Lam Bazaar is located about seven-hundred km east of Kathmandu. Regular buses are to be had from New Buspark, Koteshwar and Kalanki of Kathmandu which takes to Ilam after a bus journey of approximately 16hours. An airport is under creation at Sukilumba Danda. Daily Bus/Bolero is to be had from Ilam to Taplejung, Phidim, Birtamod, Chandragadhi, Kakarbhitta, Siliguri West Bengal, Pashupatinagar, Damak, Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar. A new buspark is being constructed at Sera. Besides those, Bus/Bolero additionally goes to all the VDCs of Ilam district.
