About Oujda
Oujda is the capital town of the Oriental area of japanese Morocco. It is located about 15 kilometres west of the Algerian border and approximately 55 km south of the Mediterranean Sea. There is some evidence of a settlement all through the Roman career, which seems to had been beneath the manipulate of Berbers in preference to Romans. The metropolis was based in 994 by means of Ziri ibn Atiyya, Berber leader of the Zenata Maghrawa tribe.
Ziri became, together with his tribe, authorised to occupy the area of Fas, but feeling insecure in that location and that metropolis, and wishing to be closer to the significant Maghrib place of birth of his tribe, he moved to Wajda, set up there a garrison and his possessions, appointing one of his loved ones as governor. In the mid-11th century, a new quarter with a wall became allegedly added to the primitive middle. Yusuf ibn Tashfin occupied the town in 1079, and in the subsequent century, it got here underneath Almohad control, with its fortifications repaired and reinforced beneath the Almohad caliph Muhammad al-Nasir.
