Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs of all shapes, sizes and cravings once meandered the Gobi Desert. Their fossilized bones and eggs were first revealed by American pioneer Roy Chapman Andrews in the 1920s. Today you can come confront to-skull with a portion of the best cases of Mongolian dinosaur fossils in this exhibition hall. The centerpiece of the gallery is the UV-lit 4m-tall, 3-ton, substance eating Tarbosaurus bataar a cousin of the Tyrannosaurus rex and the littler Saurolophus, with its particular cranial peak.

The Tarbosaurus bataar stood out as truly newsworthy in 2012 when it sold for over US$1 million at a sale in Texas. The Mongolian government challenged that the fossil had been illicitly snuck out of Mongolia and requested its arrival. The fight in court finished when a US judge decided for Mongolia.
