About Tetela de Ocampo
Tetela de Ocampo, in his Nahuatl voice means abundance of hills or in which there are teteles or mounds that have buried treasures. Before it become referred to as Tetela del Oro due to the abundance of gold inside the hills of this town. Tetela is a Mexican municipality inside the kingdom of Puebla. It is located within the coronary heart of the Sierra Norte of the state, surrounded by using lush flowers, inside the middle of huge hills which includes the Zotolo, the Ometepetl the Zimaco or the Texis.
The basis became accomplished in the year 1219 by using four Chichimeca tribes that came from the west, worshipers of the Huitzilopochtli, who fought inside the Xochiyaotl, Florid Wars, with Zacatlan and Tlaxcala. In 1519, Hernan Cortes became the primary European to move the Sierra Norte de Puebla, arriving at Zautla and Ixtacamaxtitlan, passing on that path, along the limits of what is now the municipality of Tetela. Bernal Diaz Del Castillo makes connection with Ixtacamaxtitlan in his book True History of the Conquest of New Spain.
