Pastor Ortiz

Pastor Ortiz is a metropolis in the municipality of Jose Sixto Verduzco, one of the 113 municipalities that make up the State of Michoacan de Ocampo. According to the II count number of population and housing 2005, it has 6,113 inhabitants. Pastor Ortiz is the head of the municipality of Jose Sixto Verduzco, which become constituted as such by using decree on January 10, 1974. During the colonial technology, there were haciendas that belonged to the Puruandiro territory, consisting of the ones of San Martin and Zurumuato.

After Independence, Martinez de Lejarza mentions him as part of the journey from Salamanca to Cuitzeo, at the doorway to the bounds of the province of Michoacan and Guanajuato. During the Porfirian era, which becomes characterized by way of the granting of massive concessions of land, Zurumuato became latifundio that was property of the lords Markassuza. It is the youngest municipality of Michoacan. It changed into constituted as such via decree of January 10, 1974, beneath the call of Jose Sixto Verduzco, in memory of the insurgent parish priest of Tuzantla, who fought inside the war for independence in east Michoacan.
