About Las Guacamayas
Las Guacamayas is a metropolis in the Mexican state of Michoacan de Ocampo, a part of the municipality of Lazaro Cardenas of which it has the person of tenure. Around 1446, the Province of Zacatula which ran from Petatlan to Colima, being a place rich in minerals and agricultural production, represented within the pre Hispanic era, a point of competition among the Purepecha and Nahua empires, without defining a dominant institution.
However, years after the arrival of the Spaniards, this region became a territory coveted by using them, because once they discovered of the full size wealth of those lands, Hernan Cortes sends a small institution of guys headed through Gonzalo de Umbria to investigate the gold mines of the dominion of Zacatula, which took to its go back, except gold, to two principals to offer themselves like servants of His Majesty. Later, Cortes orders Captain Juan Alvarez Chico, go to Zacatula touring Tecoantepec, and at the course pass planting some crosses as a signal that the Spanish crown had taken possession of the coast. Later, in 1523, Juan Rodriguez de Villafuerte and Ximon Cuenca, founded La Villa de Concepcion de Zacatula.
