About La Huacana
La Huacana is the municipal seat of La Huacana Municipality in Michoacán, Mexico. In 2010 it also changed into the most populous locality in the municipality. It is placed 161 kilometers from the kingdom capital Morelia. During the wars before the Spaniards arrived, this area became conquered by way of the Tarascan nation, through the successors of Tariacuri: Hiquingare, Tangaxuan and Hirepan. These rulers, a good way to make sure the payment of tribute, appointed Cupauxanti as chieftain. In the 16th century, with the advent of the Spaniards, quickly after the conquest of Apatzingan, La Huacana has become an encomienda beneath Juan Pantoja.
In 1789 Jose Maria Morelos turned into the curate of the parish of Tamacuaro de Los Angeles Aguacana. La Huacana is the centre of the municipality's important monetary activities that are agriculture, farm animals growing and fishing. The town's most appealing ancient monument is the San Nicolas Tolentino parish and the Santa Maria Goretti chapel. It has many traditional celebrations which include: The commemoration of the land distribution in La Huacana on 1 May, the pilgrimage of the localities in San Nicolas Tolentino on 1 September, a pageant referred to as verbena at the Plaza Civica on 10 September.
