Jiquilpan

Jiquilpan is a municipality within the Mexican country of Michoacan. Its municipal seat is Jiquilpan de Juarez. Jiquilpan is the birthplace of two presidents of the republic: Anastasio Bustamante, who served as President of the Republic on three activities inside the mid-19th century; and also of one of the maximum famous presidents of Mexico, Lazaro Cardenas. Jiquilpan is also the birthplace of Damian Alcazar, actor and movie director, who was in the movies El crimen Del padre Amaro, La Ley de Herodes, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, amongst others.

It has sister town change programs with Indio, California and Palmdale, California in the United States, wherein large numbers of residents from Jiquilpan relocated to within the 2000s. It is thought approximately half of the population has loved ones in Southern California. In the year 2000, the population turned into 25,778, but estimates can attain as excessive as 50,000 when seasonal migrant worker's come and live there.
