About Izucar
Izucar is a city in Izucar de Matamoros municipality situated in the southwestern piece of the Mexican territory of Puebla. The city fills in as the metropolitan seat of the region. At the enumeration of 2005 the city had a population of 41,042 inhabitants, while the region had a population of 69,413. The region has a zone of 514.11 km², and stands at 1100 m above ocean level. Izucar de Matamoros gets its name from the nahuatl word, Itzocan, which is created from itztli, signifying "blade" or "rock," ohtli signifying "way", and can.
