Degollado

Degollado is a municipality of the State of Jalisco. Quarrying capital of quarry. It is located southeast of the Region of Los Altos, for what's known as the outstanding gate of Los Altos de Jalisco. Famous nationally and specifically global for its quarry work. Located about one hundred thirty km west of Guadalajara. According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality had 19, 173 population. Its territorial extension is 305.05 km² and the population is especially devoted to the primary sector.

The oldest reference, in step with the historian and chronicler Jose Villasenor Ramirez, in his e-book at the records of this town, became known as the Ojos de Agua de los Encino’s, which had 11 families. The basis was on July 29, 1855, with the laying of the primary stone for the chapel, by way of Messrs. Ignacio de la Pena, Irineo Hernandez and Severiano Macias, giving it the call of San Ignacio de los Encinos, in civil and Morelos in the governmental factor, in the non secular factor belonged to the parish of Ayo the Boy, today Ayotlan.
