About Masjid Tanah
Masjid Tanah is a mukim in Alor Gajah District, Melaka, Malaysia. The town has been occupied since mid 1500 AD beginning from a little town. It is one of the biggest towns in Melaka. In the late 1990s, there was a land blast in Masjid Tanah when the administration chose to assemble a Petronas oil refinery in close-by Sungai Udang. The name of Masjid Tanah originates from the mosque masjid that was produced using soil tanah by a sheik from Gujarat around 1800. This mosque was likewise worked by a neighborhood named Hj.
