Kelantan

Kelantan is situated in the north-east of Peninsular Malaysia. It is circumscribed by Narathiwat Province of Thailand toward the north, Terengganu toward the south-east, Perak toward the west and Pahang toward the south. Toward the north-east of Kelantan is the South China Sea. Kelantan is situated in the north-eastern corner of the promontory. Kelantan, or, in other words decipher as the "Place where there is Lightning" see exchange hypotheses beneath, is an agrarian state with green paddy fields, natural angling towns and casuarina-lined shorelines.

Kelantan is home to probably the most old archeological disclosures in Malaysia, including a few ancient native settlements. Because of Kelantan's relative disengagement and generally country way of life, Kelantanese culture contrasts to some degree from Malay culture in whatever remains of the landmass; this is reflected in the cooking, expressions and the novel Kelantanese Malay dialect, or, in other words for a few speakers of standard Malay.

The seventeenth century Mao Kun delineate Wubei Zhi which depends on the mid fifteenth century route maps of Zheng He demonstrating Kelantan stream estuary. There are ious proposals for the inception of the name Kelantan. One hypothesis suggests that the word Kelantan originates from an adjusted adaptation of the word gelam hutam, i.e. the Malay word for the cajuput, or marsh tea tree Melaleuca leucadendron.
