About Atyrau
Atyrau till 1991, is a metropolis in Kazakhstan, and the capital of Atyrau Region. It is positioned at the mouth of the Ural River at the Caspian Sea, 2,700 kilometres west of Almaty and 351 kilometres east of the Russian town of Astrakhan. Modern Atyrau is famous for its oil and fish industries. It has 154,one hundred inhabitants, up from 142,500 , 90, the rest being basically Russians and other ethnic businesses including Tatars and Ukrainians.
