Hatsukaichi is a city of some a 120,000 humans placed in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The call derives from a marketplace historically held on the 20th of every month with hatsuka that means "twentieth day" and ichi translating to "marketplace". The market continues to at the present time on a small scale providing clean, locally grown veggies and foodstuffs. Following the absorption of the nearby cities of Ono and Miyajima on November 3, 2005, Hatsukaichi has a populace density of 239.36 people per km². The general land area stands at 489.36 km².
The name "Hatsuka-ichi" turned into from the ichi on the twentieth of each month from Kamakura Period."Hatsukaichi-machi", Saeki District, Hiroshima become based on April 1, 1889.The city "Hatsukaichi" changed into based on April 1, 1988. On March 1, 2003, the metropolis of Saeki and the village of Yoshiwa, both from Saeki District, merged into the elevated city of Hatsukaichi. On November 3, 2005, the towns of Miyajima and On were merged into Hatsukaichi. Therefore, Saeki District turned into dissolved because of this merger.
