About Negril
Negril is a small but broadly dispersed beach lodge town located across elements of two Jamaican parishes, Westmoreland and Hanover. Negril is about an hour and fifteen minute force on the coastal motorway from Sir Donald Sangster International Airport, in Montego Bay. Westmoreland is the westernmost parish in Jamaica, positioned on the south side of the island. Downtown Negril, the West End cliff inns to the south of downtown, and the southern part of the so-referred to as "seven mile seaside" are in Westmoreland. The northernmost accommodations at the beach are in Hanover Parish.
Big city is Savanna-l. A.-Mar, the capital of Westmoreland Parish. The name Negril is a shortened model of Negrillo, as it turned into initially named by the Spanish in 1494. The name is concept by means of some to be a connection with the black cliffs south of the village. Another idea holds that because there has been a great populace of black eels alongside Negril's coast, the Spaniards called the area Anguila Negra which became shortened to Negrillo after which to Negril. Although Negril has a protracted records, it did now not end up widely known until the second half of of the 20th century.
