Tandur

Tandur is a town in Vikarabad region in the Indian State of Telangana. It is a municipality and in addition Headquarters of Tandur Mandal in Tandur Revenue Division. It is known for Lime Stone Industries, Cement Industries and Redgram Pigeon pea generation. Drinking water is sourced from the River Kagna, tributary to Bhima River, which is 4 km from the town. Tandur is known for its Blue, Green and Yellow shaded Limestone. Tandur is the principle maker and wholesaler for blue limestone which can be utilized for ground surface, divider cladding and notwithstanding for the chunks.

Tandur has an altogether different history, as a few sources say that amid the fight between the Qutub Shahi Dynasty and Mughal Empire the armed force of Mughal Empire went through the Tandur to attack of Golconda Fort of Hyderabad. It's imagined that the Nizams of Hyderabad used to visit Tandur for chasing. A nearby grandee, Yusuf Seth used to organize an excellent welcome to the Nizam of Hyderabad. The rich vegetation and changed natural life were a fascination, yet now deforestation has stripped the untamed life. The old places of the Tandur city were worked of mud dividers and stones pieces on wooden backings.
