Sriperumbudur
About Sriperumbudur
Sriperumbudur is a town panchayat in Chennai Metropolitan Area in the Kanchipuram locale Indian province of Tamil Nadu found 40 kilometers southwest of the Capital City of Chennai on the National Highway 4. It is inside the Chennai Metropolitan Area. It is known for being the origination of Sri Ramanuja, a standout amongst the most unmistakable Hindu Vaishnava holy people. The previous Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was killed here in 1991. Since 2000, Sriperumbudur has seen quick industrialisation.
The old name of Sriperumbudur is "Bhoodhapuri". Sriperumbudur has a place with the Sriperumbudur Formation, which is portrayed by arenaceous and argillaceous shake units made out of splintery green shale, dirts, and sandstones with ironstone intercalation. The stone units conformably overlie either the Precambrian storm cellar or Precambrian rock overnight boardinghouses shales. The beds contain marine intercalations. Their lithologic suites and fossil fauna are suggestive of testimony under shallow and bitter conditions, presumably near the shoreline.
