Rajouri or Rajauri is a town and a city chamber in Rajouri region in Jammu and Kashmir. Rajouri is around 155 kilometers 96 mi from kashmir 120 km Jammu city on the Poonch Highway. Rajouri is referred to as the Vale of Lakes as there are numerous lakes around the city. Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is situated in the town. Well known Sikh General Banda Singh Bahadur additionally had a place with Rajouri. In 1813, Gulab Singh of Jammu caught Rajouri for the Sikh Empire of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, by crushing Raja Agar Ullah Khan.
