Pedong

Pedong is a town in Kalimpong district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Pedong is a resort town in the district of Darjeeling. It is steeped in the solitude of nature at 5100 feet. Here, tourists leave themselves into the solitude of calm and cool ambience.

The small picturesque hamlet situated on a ridge and surrounded by pine forests, it commands some magnificent views of the surrounding hills. The village used to be a major transit hub on the ancient silk route that connected Tibet with India through the Jelep La Pass. The village is spread North to South on a ridge and is the starting point of some interesting small hikes. The best gift of Pedong for its tourists is the spell bounding and breathtaking sight of Mount Kanchenjunga that is unforgettable.
