A pilgrimage site for jains , Pawapuri lietrally means the “sinless town”.The last Tirthankar , Lord MAhavir was cremated at Jal Mandir located in the middle of the lotus pond which is said to be formed during the rush of the pilgrims who came for to glimpse at the Mahavira.

Lord Mahavira left for his heavenly abode at Gaon Mandir Temple.At Samosaran temple ,Mahavira preched his spiritual teachings to his disciples. Gunayaji village which is located 20 km away from Pawapuri and is the place where Shri Gunayaji Teerth Temple is situated.Pawapuri is equisite for its spiritualism and pious nature. Rajgir Dance Festival and Chhath Puja are celebrated with great fervor.
