Pandharpur

Pandharpur is located in the state of Maharashtra and is considered to be the most important pilgrimage sites on the banks of Bhima River. The famous tourist destination is the third largest tehsil of the district.

The town have many legendary stories related to the Bhakti saint Pundalik and Lord Vitthal which make the city more spiritual and famous religious spot. In fact, the name was coined after Lord Vitthal as the name Pandharpur has been derived from the word Pandurang which denotes the abode of Lord Vitthal. The place is filled with many pilgrimage sites of Hindu and perchance a fantastic tourist destination with the juxtaposition of culture, heritage, scenic beauty and ancient temples.
